yes, its true - i am not much of a talker. although there are some who are close to me who would disagree with that! i would say i am more of a listener, a watcher. i find it amusing that folks often think there is something wrong with me because i prefer to listen rather than talk. or they think of not talking as somewhat negative. i have to admit that for years and years it did bother me that i was like this. i noticed the talkers were usually very popular, the life of the party, the center of attention, most likely to get the most dates, the best jobs... usually, and i am making general statements here, they are extroverted. i longed to be that way when i was growing up. it bothered me for years and i tried to 'fake it', but reality is, i am a listener- an introvert. and i am good with that - finally! i make no apologies for how God wired me up. He made me this way on purpose, for a reason.
most of us wish that we had different personality traits than we have. imagine if you were picking your personality traits - how different would they be from how you are now? hmm...that's a thought to ponder for a few days.
i have learned we never truly have peace with ourselves until we accept who we are in Christ, that we can never really be free until we find that freedom in Him.
this is who i am - you don't have to like me or accept this way - but this is how the Creator made me. and i'm in no position to argue with the God of the Universe or question why.
thankfully God did not make us all identical - can you imagine if we were all 'listeners' or all 'talkers'! God has wired us up in way that is special to us.
Its good to finally be able to relax and 'be' who God made me to be.
